Junior Tournaments - We need your help!

PATC members, please volunteer and help promote tennis, the sport that we love, among the next generation!!

The only remaining tourney for 2015 is Sunday October 18 from 11:00 to 5:00 PM at Cubberley. We need 6 volunteers to act as court monitors (1 per 2 courts) – 3 for each of 2 shifts from 11:00 AM – 2:00 and from 2:00 – 5:00 PM. Court monitors are not referees or umpires, but just being on hand to remind players to track scores, promote fair-play and answer player questions. Quite simple, really.

PATC has, for many years, been running very successful junior tennis tournament program to sell-out crowds of boys and girls. In fact, it is not only promoting tennis and in the process, potentially attracting more players, but is one of the primary sources of the club’s income. We are encouraging Club members to step-up and not only help run these fun events, but also enjoy watching the amazing tennis these kids play.

Please contact me if you’d like to sign-up or need additional info. Or, just show-up Sunday 9/20 or 10/18!! I’ll be pleased to tell you more!!

Thank you.

The Palo Alto Tennis Club (PATC) is a local non-profit volunteer organization devoted to the enjoyment and promotion of tennis. Most Club members live in Palo Alto, many come from our surrounding communities. Est'd 1948.

In addition to weekly adult "drop-in" tennis we host four "City-Slam-Series" tournaments, several USTA Sanctioned Junior Tourneys, and many Tennis Under Twelve Tennis (TAUT) and other youth tennis events.  New for 2015 is a resource for members who would like to connect for casual or regular games, the PATCPlayList (for members only).

Members also receive 'Net Notes', a monthly emailed newsletter.

Club-managed Rinconada drop-ins are held every Sunday of the month (except during tournaments), play from 9 till 12 noon (come sign in from 8:30 at the table by the fence) at the public Rinconada tennis courts (Hopkins @ Cedar). The events are open to the public for $4, Club members are free. Email Henry at: "dropins at paloaltotennis dot com" for more info on the Rinconada dropins.  Informal drop-ins are also held most Saturdays 8-11am, courts 1,2 and 4 at Cubberly's public courts.

The Club's four "City Slam Series" tournaments are held at Rinconada Park and correspond with the Grand Slams.  Members and non-members sign up on our website, for a small fee.  Food and snacks are in accord with the actual venue: Melbourne, Paris, London and New York.
